Sramkova brings the heavier punch
Sramkova showed what that approach can produce when she beat Anna Blinkova 6-3, 6-3 in Toronto and Elsa Jacquemot in straight sets in Cincinnati. Her latest loss to Alevtina Ibragimova was much messier, with 38 unforced errors exposing the thin line between clean aggression and a hurried afternoon.
Chwalinska's sharp 6-2, 6-2 win over Cristina Bucsa remains her best recent hard-court display. Yet Alycia Parks and Taylor Townsend both denied her time, preventing the left-hander from building points with slice, shape and changes of pace.
The first clean swing could decide it
Sramkova does not need to become reckless. A strong serve followed by controlled depth should be enough to push Chwalinska behind the baseline, where her variety becomes harder to use and the slower ball can look more like an invitation than a trap.
Rust and shot selection are the obvious risks, but the stylistic opening is real. At this price, Sramkova's heavier serve and direct baseline game make her the attractive side on indoor hard.
