Pirates need length from Jones, not merely electricity

Johnson's cutter gives the Angels a workable map

The loose thread is secondary-pitch command. His splitter and sweeper can vanish from the zone, allowing patient hitters such as Bryan Reynolds and the Pirates' left-handed bats to sit on the cutter and stretch an inning.
